Mahon –Capital of Minorca
Mahon offers plenty of interest to all visitors. The port is one of the deepest natural harbours in Europe. The atmosphere is festive and lively. There are a wide range of restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets. Visit the gin factory, sample a tot of gin and tour.
The Town has historical buildings, as far back as Nelson and Lady Hamilton, cafes, shops, bars, and local market. Gift shops offer plenty of choice including leather goods, cheese, gin and ceramics including the Spanish porcelain ‘Lladro’.
The old town has cobbled streets, churches, museums and monuments.
Minorca
Blessed with a rugged coastline, with small sandy
coves. It is quieter and more relaxed than Majorca and Ibiza, and the least
developed of the three.
Evening and day time entertainment is available, including wet sports, places of
intrest and wonderful views. Visit Mont Toro for views across the island, and to
see the church and monument.
The countryside is blessed with pine forests, cultivated fields and a patchwork
of white washed cottages. Small fishing villages are dotted around the island
and picturesque harbours provide a beautiful backdrop for walking.
Cala’n Porter
The apartment is located in the village of Cala’n
Porter, to the south of the island. It is slightly more commercialised than
other resorts which means that everything is provide within walking distance of
the apartment. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, a beautiful wide,
gently shelving sandy beach. Evening entertainment is available including the
disco situated in the Cova d’en Xoroi, a series of natural caves over looking
Cala’n Porter. During the day the caves are open for quieter moments – have a
drink and watch the water below, with gentle music playing in the background.
The perfect environment for a relaxing holiday, with the thrill of the true
Menorquian way of life.
